Picture your perfect wedding day…

You’ll be saying your vows with the one you love. Dancing for the first time as husband and wife. Enjoying an evening with your family and closest friends. But while obviously you can envision a beautiful backdrop for your day, what your guests will hear can have an equally large impact on their experience.

When planning out what music you will have at your wedding, the big decision is often “Band or DJ?” However the planning can go much deeper than that, to create a truly incredible audio landscape.

Part 1: Ceremony

The ceremony is an incredibly powerful, unique expression of your love. It is, after all, the reason for the party that follows!

For a wedding ceremony in a church, temple, or other religious house, often times you have a say in what hymns or songs are included in the service. Sometimes you may even be able to bring in your own musicians! Having a song that is special to you performed live can be a special moment in your day.

You can also have your ceremony at your reception venue. One great option here is to use your DJ during the wedding—he can bring a smaller amplifier and play the exact rendition of the song you want to hear as you walk down the aisle. However you can still use live musicians if you prefer! A live ensemble, like the one in this picture below from our sister property West Hills Country Club, can set the perfect tone for a wedding outside in the sunlight.
