A wedding is a moment of tremendous joy, but we know that planning for a wedding can be just as confusing and stressful. We pride ourselves on providing excellent service to our guests during the most difficult points in this process.
Listed below are answers to some of our most frequently asked questions. If you have a question or concern that is not covered on this page, the staff at The Grandview is always ready to provide individual advice.
The initial reservation fee is usually $1,000.00. All reservation fee are non-refundable. Your payment information is located on the bottom of the first page of your agreement.
Payments can be made in either cash or check. Personal checks are accepted up until one month prior to the event date. We do not accept credit cards. Your final payment is made by either; cash or certified/bank check only.
We call that your menu visit. You should schedule your visit to be 3-4 months before the date of your wedding. This allows us plenty of time to place your orders, & gives you plenty of time to decide on your menu choices. Directional maps, place cards, & floor plan can also be provided at this visit.
Discounts are given after you have met your adult minimum. Children four to ten years old are ½ price. Children three and younger are free. Professionals are $80 each.
We offer discounts up to 20% per person for functions taking place December through March. This discount does not apply to ceremony costs or upgrades.
Your head count is due 5 days prior to the day of your wedding. 10 days before the wedding, you should call The Grandview with your approximate guest count in the following terms, so we can provide you with the final invoice.

The Grandview includes the following votive candles in your wedding package: one on every cocktail table, several around your cake table, on the bars, across your place card table, gift table, head table and two on every dining table. We also try to accent some of
the non-action stations with votives as well. The votives are white, 6 hour candles in a clear cylinder glass.
Your floor plan, favors, place cards, & other collectibles should come in 5 days prior at your final visit. They should be labeled with the couple’s last names & date of the wedding. Your place cards should be in alphabetical order by last name. Any special instructions should also be noted. Permission from The Grandview is required if you need us to set-up anything beyond the items listed above. Additional cost may be charged for increased labor. We do not set up centerpieces.
All extra favors, wedding gifts, & flowers should be brought home the evening of the wedding. The Grandview cannot be held responsible for the replacement or value of any items left behind.
The Grandview proudly hosts tasting events roughly 10 times a year. Included in your wedding package are (2) two tasting tickets to (1) one tasting event at no charge. Tastings will only be done on the weekday dates stated on our website. We limit our reservations to 75 guests per tasting to create an intimate & personal setting. It is highly recommended to make the required reservations as soon as possible to ensure that your party will be able to attend a date that is most convenient for you. Please speak with your wedding coordinator for details.
Each wedding will have a maitre ‘d, a captain, a wedding attendant, one server to every ten guests, one bartender per 50 guests, and an on-site manager, plus valet parkers and shuttle driver(s).
Due to safe alcohol service, we are not permitted to serve shots at any time.
You can rehearse your ceremony at The Grandview. You may book your rehearsal time & date one month prior to your actual wedding date. Ask your wedding coordinator for details.
Shuttle transportation is included for guests of The Poughkeepsie Grand Hotel to The Grandview starting one half hour prior to your wedding. The service is reserved for guests of the Poughkeepsie Grand Hotel with overnight accommodations only, and is available to them at no additional charge.
